pdl software package provides perl data language: Perl extensions for numerics, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install pdl
pdl is installed in your system.
Make ensure the pdl package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep pdl *
You will get with pdl package name, version, architecture and description in a table
